Christmas Countdown #7

Well a bit of a surprise for you this week, we have a card club that has to contribute cards for swapping every 6 weeks or so and this week our last swap was due. The theme was christmas with a twist...and the twist was that the card was not allowed to be a traditional shape eg, square or rectangle. Here are the two cards that I made for the swap!! They are not only cards where the front is hinged with an eyelet and swings sideways....they double up as an ornament for your christmas tree. The patterned papers were just scraps that I had on hand, ribbon and jumbo eyelets are from Stampin' Up! and Cardstock is Bazzill!! Stamps and gemstones used are from Kaiser. I also used some shimmerz paints on the word peace. Enjoy.

Christmas Countdown # 6

There is just something about Christmas cards and glitter!! Here is this weeks creation!! The background effect was acheived by embossing the patterned paper with a cuttlebug embossing folder then sanding with a sanding block to let the white core of the paper show through. I then applied over the raised pattern some Shimmerz Paints to add that extra sparkle. These are a great new product and we are the only store to have them in Australia at the moment, so head on over and check them out some samples we have on our website, simply click here.

Christmas Countdown #5

It only seems like a couple of days ago I posted last weeks card...because it was late!! Anyway here is a little something to get your weekend cardmaking started. have Fun!

Materials:

Kaiser Patterned Paper

Autumn Leaves Stamps - Merry Christmas

Buzz & Bloom Chipboard Alphabet - 70's Mini (I love this chipboard as there are hundreds of letters, heaps of vowels and other popular letters

Kaiser Rhinestones - Can't see them, that's because they were purple so I embossed them with the Opals Rosevear powder to match the chipboard. Great way to use up colours that you otherwise probably wouldn't use. The only thing wrong was the heat gun melted the adhesive on the back so you have to glue them on. No biggy.
